hospital in South Africa

GUEST POST

The word polite simply means being humble and kind towards other persons in any interaction. A patient is generally refer to as someone who is receiving medical treatment in a hospital or a health facility for an illness. If such places are for sick people to have solutions to their sickness, then the attitude of some practising nurses and other healthcare providers must be properly check, especially towards they patients who are either on admission or waiting to receive medical attention. Its therefore beholds on health personnel to always have a rethink especially on types of words and treatment given out on the sick people who are under their care, as they need comforting or pleasant words in order to hasten their recovery.

It is indeed very common to hear patients or their relations refer to health workers as wicked, inhuman or lack manners. Health workers should know that it no one's wish to find himself or herself in the hospital, as health challenges can happen to just anyone. Of serious concern is the role health workers play in sustaining life.  Furthermore, polite and suiting words should be the watch words of health officers for effective healthcare delivery. What is more alarming these days is the charges especially in private clinics or hospitals which denies patients of their opportunity to have proper medical healthcare.

For these reasons, private hospitals or clinics should as a matter of concern reduce unnecessary charges on patients in order not to compound or stress either the families or relations. In fact what is equally more worrisome is the fact that some of these charges are mostly not justifiable to what the patient consume in receiving treatment.

Considering these issues, it beholds on healthcare providers to place life above financial benefit as the saying goes "health is wealth" and no society can progress with healthy citizenry.
